Optus Stadium Feature Lighting

Optus Stadium is owned by the Western Australian State Government and is proudly operated by VenuesLive.

Optus Stadium has been designed with a focus on technology, and as such, significant infrastructure is available to support lighting the halo fabric roof and façade surrounding the exterior of the Stadium.

Hirers of Optus Stadium have exclusive use of the Stadium lighting system on their respective event days. Please refer to the Optus Stadium Event Calendar, which is subject to change throughout the year.

Charity Lighting Up Program

Shining a light on causes that matter

Each year, Optus Stadium lights up in support of charities, not-for-profit organisations and important causes that make a difference in the Western Australian community.

Through the Charity Lighting Up Program, eligible organisations can apply to have Optus Stadium illuminated in their nominated colours to recognise a significant awareness day, campaign or cause.

Applications for 2027

Applications for the 2027 Charity Lighting Up Program will be open from 2–27 November 2026.

Organisations are encouraged to nominate a date that has a clear connection to their cause or campaign, such as a recognised awareness day or significant annual event.

Applications are assessed following the closing date, with successful organisations allocated a lighting date for the following calendar year.

Before you apply

Before submitting an application, please read the Charity Lighting Up Program Guidelines, which outline:

  • who is eligible to apply;
  • the types of requests that can be considered;
  • how applications are assessed;
  • lighting and date requirements;
  • what is included for successful applicants; and
  • important program conditions.
