Elimination Final

The Fremantle Dockers’ incredible come-from-behind win over the Western Bulldogs in Saturday’s Elimination Final was not the only cause for celebration in WA this week.

With a crowd of 58,982 packed into Optus Stadium, fans indulged in the finals atmosphere, with some delicious food and beverage options sourced from some local producers and suppliers right here in WA.

625 kegs of draught beer, 7,053 bottles and cans of beer and 8,102 cans of Matso’s Ginger Beer were consumed during the game with all drinks brewed at Gage Roads Brew Co. just 23km away in Palmyra.

22,162 cans of spirits were cracked at bars around the stadium, while 12,540 bottles of Coca-Cola soft drinks and 7,279 bottles of water were drunk as fans cheered on the Dockers and the Dogs.

Local bakers Mrs Macs saw 6,692 pies, sausage rolls and pastries consumed during Freo’s historic win while 1,878 Cheeky Brothers Pizzas (another WA company) were put through pizza ovens and into the hands of footy fans.

1,052 chicken wings went down a treat, along with 1,143 serves of fish and chips, 1,983 cups of popcorn chicken and 12,385 cups of chips, which were all produced by local company New West Foods.

From the chefs and cooks, to our casuals, food and beverage and customer service team, a big thanks to the 1,278 Optus Stadium staff who were on the ground to make this final a success!
