The AFL has today announced that State of Origin will return to Optus Stadium, with Western Australia taking on South Australia on Saturday 27 February, 2027.
The match will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the first State of Origin content, which was staged at Subiaco Oval in 1977.
Following the success of this year's sold-out match between WA and Victoria, the 2027 event will again feature a football festival in Stadium Park.
The AFL has also confirmed that Optus Stadium will host another State of Origin match in 2029, when Western Australia will again face Victoria.
