Perth lights up for Inter ahead of Optus Stadium clash.
Perth joins Milan as city landmarks light up for Inter ahead of Optus Stadium blockbuster
Perth will light up in Inter blue this weekend to celebrate the Italian football giant’s 2025–26 domestic double and build momentum ahead of the club’s visit to Western Australia for Calcio Italiano at Optus Stadium this August.
Inter has capped one of the great seasons in the club’s modern history, winning the Serie A title before defeating Lazio 2-0 in the Coppa Italia final in Rome. The victory delivered Inter’s 10th Coppa Italia, sealed the club’s domestic double, and marked only the third time the Nerazzurri have achieved that feat.
The celebration comes ahead of Calcio Italiano, a major Italian football festival bringing four of Italy’s most recognisable clubs — Inter, AC Milan, Juventus and Palermo — to Perth this August.
Inter will headline two of the tournament’s biggest fixtures at Optus Stadium, first facing city rivals AC Milan in the Milano Derby on Wednesday 5 August, before taking on historic rivals Juventus in the Derby d’Italia on Saturday 8 August.
The city-wide lighting moment will see major Perth landmarks illuminated in Inter’s famous blue, linking WA to the club’s celebrations in Milan and giving local fans an early taste of one of world football’s biggest clubs before they arrive in Perth.
Landmarks include Kings Park’s Fraser Avenue, Council House, the Adelaide Terrace entry bridge, Trafalgar Bridge and Optus Stadium.
With adult tickets available from $49.80 and more than half of the available seats priced under $100, organisers are positioning Calcio Italiano as a major event for both football fans and the wider WA community. Tickets available via Ticketmaster.
