Optus Stadium welcomes 12 millionth Fan
Optus Stadium cracked another major milestone today when the 12 millionth major event fan walked through the gates as part of the crowd watching the Perth Scorchers take on the Hobart Hurricanes in the BBL.
Since opening in January 2018, 11,993,924 fans have attended major events at Perth’s premier entertainment destination meaning only 6,076 needed to enter the gates to hit the 12 million milestone.
Father and son, Shane and Tom O’Loughlin, were surprised as they entered the stadium with the news and received an exciting prize pack thanks to our proud partner Optus including an instant seat upgrade, an F&B voucher, a Perth Scorchers merch pack, two tickets to any stadium event of their choice in 2026, a pair of iPods and a portable phone charger to keep them connected during the match.
The West Coast Eagles fans are regular stadium attendees, watching both football and cricket.
Since opening we have held more than 340 major events, including all three forms of cricket, AFL, AFLW and WAFL, NRL including three State of Origin matches, rugby union (including three Bledisloe Cups), WWE and numerous concerts including Ed Sheeran, Coldplay, Metallica, AC/DC, P!NK, Taylor Swift and Eminem — as well as soccer greats including AC Milan, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United, Crystal Palace and Chelsea.
Next month marks the Stadium’s eighth birthday and VenuesLive’s ninth year in Perth and we can’t wait to continue delivering memorable moments, including Sheeran’s third visit, AFL Origin and the AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2026.
